Cape Otway Lightstation offers three main accommodation types: the fully self-contained Lighthouse Lodge, the Lightkeeper's B&B suites, and the Lightstation Studio. The Lightstation Studio provides views of the lighthouse from the room. B&B suites include a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, and crockery.

Location & Access

Set on an 1848 historical site off the Great Ocean Road, the Otway Lightstation is a 38-minute drive from Apollo Bay. Guests have access to the entire lighthouse precinct once the site closes to the public at 5pm. This means overnight visitors can explore the lighthouse, WWII radar bunker, and grounds without other tourists.

Dining & Provisions

Cape Otway Lightstation provides breakfast provisions in all accommodations, including local produce, bread, jams, and real coffee with a plunger. The on-site cafe serves homemade scones with jam and cream, plus coffee. Guests staying in self-contained houses can cook meals in fully equipped kitchens with wood fireplaces.

The Cape Otway lighthouse has family accommodations such as the Four-Bedroom Lighthouse Lodge with two toilets and a large living area. Guests can climb the 78 stairs of the 59 ft lighthouse tower for panoramic views of the Bass Strait. The site includes a WWII radar bunker, a telegraph station, and the original keeper's cottage restored to 19th-century condition. After public hours, wallabies, kangaroos, and echidnas appear on the grounds, and the night sky offers Milky Way views.
